Yes to Future: Bonds would put California on right track

More important than the partisan races on the Nov. 7 ballot are five measures that may allow California to build for the future - something we have failed to do during the last decade.<.p>

There are five bond measures that deserve voter approval. They can ensure the state rebuilds at least part of its crumbling infrastructure. ...

We strongly urge an affirmative vote on all five propositions. ...

Proposition 1C: Housing and shelter - Opponents argue that the state should not be in the housing business. But the housing market is so out of control in California that the state must help some of our low-income residents. This measure would provide $2.85 billion for battered-women's shelters, low-income senior housing, home ownership assistance for the disabled, veterans and working families.
